Standard LCD, touch, OLED, high-refresh screens, batteries and top-case assemblies all cost differently.
Replacing one part is a different job from fixing secondary impact or liquid damage.
Common parts in stock mean faster repairs; uncommon revisions may need ordering.
Storage or software work can need extra steps when important files must be kept.
A reliable quote comes after the actual fault is confirmed, not from the symptom alone.
Repair or replace?
Compare the repair quote with the laptop's condition, the cost of a replacement, how long it will keep meeting your needs, the effort of moving your data, and whether the repair fixes your main problem. Simple rules like "only repair if it's under half the laptop's value" ignore most of those factors.
If the real problem is speed rather than a failure, a compatible SSD or memory upgrade can sometimes make repair the better value, as long as your model supports it.
