Won't turn on, stuck on the Samsung logo, draining by lunchtime, or cracked across the glass? Start with the safe power steps below. If the symptoms point to hardware, bring it into any of our eight Florida stores for a free diagnostic — you approve the quote before anything is opened.

Pick the closest symptom. Each one tells you whether it is worth trying a reset first, or whether the tablet should go straight to a bench.
Try the safe steps first
A tablet that has drained completely can look dead for several minutes on the charger. Charge it for 15–20 minutes on a known-good cable and adapter, then hold Power for about 10 seconds. If that does nothing, hold Power + Volume Down for 10–15 seconds.
Still nothing after both attempts? That usually points at the charging port, the battery, or board-level power — and more resets will not change the outcome.

Rule out the cheap causes before anything else: a tired cable, a low-output USB port instead of a wall adapter, or compacted pocket lint in the charging port. Never force a cable that has started to feel loose.
If it only charges when you hold the cable at an angle, the port has worn or lifted. That is a bench repair, not a settings problem.

A forced restart clears most one-off freezes and does not touch your data. Hold Power + Volume Down for 10–15 seconds until the tablet restarts.
If it boots and then freezes again within minutes, look at free storage and pending updates before considering a factory reset — and back up first.
Reset instructions ↓Usually a repair
Runtime that has collapsed compared with a year ago, shutdowns at 20–30%, or a charge percentage that sticks are all classic worn-cell behaviour. Software tuning will not bring a degraded cell back.
If the performance is otherwise fine, a battery replacement is often the best value repair on the whole device.
Battery signs and replacement ↓Usually a repair
A port that wobbles, drops the connection when the tablet is moved, or only charges at one specific angle has mechanical wear or a lifted solder joint. Continuing to push the cable in tends to make it worse.
Port work is a common, well-understood repair. Bring it in for a free diagnostic and we will tell you what it actually needs.

Cracked glass lets dust and moisture reach the display and digitiser underneath. What starts as a glass-only job can turn into a full panel replacement if it is left.
On some Galaxy Tab models the glass and display are bonded as one unit, which changes the part cost — so the exact model number matters for the quote.
Check repair pricing ↗The quick fix path
None of these steps erase your data. Work down the list — most "dead" Samsung tablets come back somewhere in the first three.
Use a known-good cable and a wall adapter — not a low-power USB port on a laptop or monitor.
Press and hold Power for about 10 seconds, until the Samsung logo appears or the tablet restarts.
Press and hold Power + Volume Down together for about 10–15 seconds. This is safe and does not wipe anything.
Free up storage, install pending app and OS updates, and remove anything installed right before the trouble started.
That is hardware. Skip the resets and book a free diagnostic.
The short answer
Yes — most Samsung Galaxy tablets can be repaired. The smart path depends entirely on which part actually failed.
A cracked display, a weak battery, charging-port wear, liquid exposure and a software fault all present differently, and they do not all need the same fix. Sorting the symptom into the right bucket first is what saves you time and money.
Fast rule: if the tablet has physical symptoms — cracked glass, a loose port, swelling, liquid exposure — treat it as a hardware repair. If it is simply stuck, frozen or glitchy, start with the reboot and reset steps.
Cracked glass, dead touch zones, lines or black patches. On some models the glass and display panel are bonded and replaced as one unit.
Rapid drain, shutdowns well above 0%, or visible swelling lifting the screen or back cover.
Won't charge, the cable wiggles, or charging only works at one specific angle.
Corrosion, random reboots or no power after any exposure — including "just a little".
Boot loops, stuck on the Samsung logo, or freezing that survives a forced restart.
If you are weighing an authorised service provider against a local repair shop, ask all three of the same questions: what grade of parts are used, what the realistic turnaround is, and what happens to your data while the device is out of your hands. A shop that cannot answer those plainly is telling you something.
No power
Work through these in order. Steps 1 to 3 are completely safe and will not touch your data.
Still no sign of life? The cause is usually the charging port, the battery, or board-level power. That is the point where a bench diagnosis saves time compared with repeating resets.
These symptoms need a repair, not more resets.
The battery is expanding — the screen lifts or the back cover bulges.
The tablet gets uncomfortably hot while plugged in.
It charges only when you hold the cable in one position.
Any contact with liquid, however brief it seemed at the time.
It cycles the logo again and again after reset attempts.
Stuck screen
A reset clears most one-off freezes. A freeze that keeps coming back is telling you something else.
If the screen is stuck, lagging badly, or apps will not open:
Power that fades
If the tablet still performs well but no longer lasts, the battery is usually the only thing standing between you and a device that feels new again.
In most cases, yes — but it is nothing like swapping AA batteries. Many Galaxy Tabs are sealed units that need controlled heat, careful adhesive removal and the correct tools to open without cracking the display.
Battery lifespan comes down to heat, charging habits and how hard the tablet works. On many Samsung tablets, a noticeable decline shows up after a few years of daily use.
If performance is fine but runtime is poor, a battery replacement is usually the best-value repair available on the device.
Model coverage
Part cost and repair approach differ sharply between families, which is why the exact model number always decides the quote.
01
The premium line, using AMOLED panels that are bonded to the glass. Screen work on these is the most part-sensitive repair we quote, and the model generation matters a great deal.
Screen · Battery · Charging port
02
The everyday and family line, generally using LCD panels. These are typically the most affordable Samsung tablets to repair, and screen and battery work is routine.
Screen · Battery · Charging port
03
Ruggedised and legacy tablets are still very repairable, though part availability drives the timeline more than the labour does. We confirm parts before quoting.

Timing
It depends far less on the fault than on which route you take to get it fixed.
Manufacturer route

Local route

Turnaround always depends on the specific model and part availability. We confirm the realistic timeline with you at the diagnostic, before you commit to anything.
Pricing
Samsung tablet repair pricing moves with the model, the display technology and how deep the damage goes — which is why an honest number needs the exact model number.
01
Higher-end AMOLED panels on the Tab S line cost considerably more than the LCD panels used across the Tab A range.
02
Glass only, glass plus the LCD or AMOLED beneath it, or glass plus a bent frame are three very different jobs.
03
OEM versus premium aftermarket parts changes both the price and what you should expect from the result. We tell you which is being used.
04
A bent frame, liquid corrosion or board-level issues found during diagnosis change the scope — and you approve any change before we continue.

Questions
The five things people ask us most before they bring a tablet in.
Charge it for 15–20 minutes with a known-good cable and wall adapter, then try a soft restart by holding Power for about 10 seconds. If that does nothing, hold Power + Volume Down for 10–15 seconds. If there is still no response, the cause is usually the battery, the charging port, or the power circuitry — all of which need a bench diagnosis.
Try a soft reset first — hold Power for about 10 seconds. If the screen will not respond at all, use a forced restart by holding Power + Volume Down for 10–15 seconds. Neither erases your data. If the tablet boots but keeps freezing, back up your files and then consider a factory reset.
Yes, in most cases. Many Galaxy Tab models are sealed units, so the job needs controlled heat, careful adhesive removal and the correct tools rather than a simple swap. If the battery is swollen or the tablet overheats, stop using it and get it looked at rather than attempting it yourself.
It depends on the repair and the route you take. Through manufacturer service, around 5–10 business days is a common expectation, and mail-in adds shipping and intake time. At a local shop, common repairs such as screen, battery and charging port are often aimed at same or next day, depending on the model and part availability.
If it is a mid-to-high value model and the fault is a screen, battery or charging port, repair is usually worth it. If there is severe liquid damage or board damage on an older device, replacement may be the better call. The free diagnostic exists precisely so you can make that decision with a real number in front of you.
